===PAXOS CHECKUP OVERVIEW===
Paxos Checkup is DigiSight Technologies’ flagship technology for vision assessment. This system is designed to enhance the patient-physician connection and improve practice efficiencies. With Paxos Checkup, physicians can gather at-home visual function metrics from patients on an ongoing basis and generate datasets significantly larger than the standard of care. Physicians are able to monitor this vision data collected remotely by patients in real-time and receive notifications on changes in vision that may warrant evaluation, ultimately enabling physicians to enhance patient care.
The Paxos Checkup vision assessment system integrates Paxos Checkup, a physician-prescribed application, with the Paxos cloud-based portal for patient management.
===PAXOS CHECKUP APP===
Paxos Checkup is a physician-prescribed vision testing application that offers multiple standard vision assessments, including a clinically validated visual acuity test and a dynamic Amsler grid. The app enables patients to test their visual function at home on a smart device (supported iPod, iPhone, or iPad) and share their test results automatically and securely with their physicians.
With Paxos Checkup, the patient completes a prescribed sequence of vision tests on a mobile device of his/her choice. The data generated during testing is securely transmitted in real time to the Paxos cloud-based patient management system.
Examples of the Paxos Checkup app screens below show the splash screen, the home screen, the Visual Acuity test, digital Amsler test, and the doctor connect screen.
===THE PAXOS PLATFORM AND PORTALS===
The Paxos platform enables the secure transmission and storage of patient information from DigiSight’s mobile tests to a cloud-based patient management system. Data generated by Paxos Checkup can be viewed on the cloud-based DigiSight portal. If there is a potentially significant change in patient vision, defined by a physician-configured threshold, the patient’s physician is notified by the system. The physician then assesses patient data on the Paxos platform and contacts the patient if follow-up is needed. The patient is also able to log in on the Paxos portal at www.digisight.net to view his/her vision testing data.
Latest reviews of Paxos Checkup app for iPhone and iPad
The apps screenshots dont match the app — there is no toolbar at the bottom as shown in the screenshots. I dont appreciate running through the tests and getting a calculated "result" without any explanation of what that result means or might mean. You dont make it clear that you have to sign up for your service until you get to the end of a test, and then dont explain the value of signing up for it. Worst part: The help screens have color text on a striped colored background. This is an app for people with sight problems — color on color seems like a bad approach for a help screen for the community you are trying to provide a service to. This applications exact usefulness isnt clear and there is no take home message that helps me understand its value — it seems like its only purpose is to drive people to sign up for your site, and your site seems like its selling to patients and physicians all at once, so, do you have a service in place or not? Doesnt seem like it. Your app raises more questions than it answers and teases instead of educates.
I took all the tests and found them to be informative. The web site was easy to follow especially for people who are not very Internet savvy.
My experience with app has been very positive. The application is easy to use, the instructions are simple and easy to understand, the app screens and tests look good and feel very intuitive in their use. This is an app that is useful to doctors and patients alike and functions precisely as described. Overall Two thumbs up!!!
Terrific app for patients to test their vision at home. This will save doctors time by having patients monitor their vision while allowing their physician to connect and keep track of their visual health. Perfect for early stage / high risk patients to monitor any early vision loss. Clearly designed with ophthalmologists and their patients in mind.
This is exactly the app I wished somebody would make, and a must-download for anyone with vision issues. I actually had saved images of an Amsler grid on my phone that Id try to look at periodically for changes, but there was no way to definitively record what I was seeing at any given time. I tried keeping paper versions around the house but tracking changes was a pain and it never felt very accurate. Ultimately Id end up at my next doctor appointment without being sure to what extent my vision really might have changed. Cant wait to actually try syncing info with my doctor via the website. The visual design and UI are a little rough around the edges and could use a little fine-tuning -- a clearer typeface, bigger buttons, more whitespace called for in some areas -- but this is version 1.0. Ill happily give that a pass just because this app functions so well to solve a very real healthcare problem.
